WTEST

It is a method which allows you to get to know the (interior and exterior) state of the wooden structure. This inspection protocol is previous to the intervention (renovation, treatment…).

It permits to get to know the structural aspects (excessive deflections, damp stains, cracks, interior damages…) and the biotic aspects (woodworm plagues, longhorn beetles, termites, fungi…). The W-Test method is a perfect supplement to calculate the pre-existent wooden structures and to define the preservation state as well as to proceed to an assessment in order to grant a ten-year insurance.

Stage 1

Analysis of 100% of the beams with indirect methodology

  • Visual inspection
  • Hardness test
  • Humidity on the walls
  • Humidity on the wood
  • Inspection with sound sensors
  • Densitometric analysis of the wooden beams
  • Wood species analysis (optional)
  • Wood density analysis (optional)
  • Identification of different xylophagous plagues
  • Risk map of the structure
  • Preliminary proposal of the most suitable treatment
  • Preparation and presentation of the preliminary report, preparation of the budget of the stage 2 (number of beams to be analysed by a resistograph).

Stage 2

Resistographic analysis of the risk areas selected at the Stage 1

A resistographic analysis by means of the non-invasive prospecting allows you to get to know the interior damages and to estimate a useful section.

These results are of great importance at the moment of calculating the structure and interpreting the results of complementary laboratory tests such as the checking of deflection resistance, compression, drive…

Finally a technical report is presented, in which apart from providing clearly all the data collected during each test a diagnosis is reached of the structure pathologies and the most suitable treatment is suggested.
